Photography sort of happened to me. I discovered old cameras in my father’s garage while still at school and from that day on, it has been my passion. Twelve years as a crime scene and police photographer took care of my formal training and vast experience in various disciplines.

Over the years I have worked in many photographic genres. I was also the first person in South Africa to manufacture studio strobes locally.

As a professional, I specialize in weddings, events, conceptual portraits, model portfolio’s and commercial photography and my client list includes, First National Bank, ABSA, Metro Rail, MTN, Chemplast, Mica, Aquatan, Sportron, Targus, CSD Black, Old Mutual, Megaray, Aquatan as well as Continental International.

Teaching was a natural development and I lectured photography for 4 years at a tertiary institution. I also lectured evenings and weekends at a photography school in Centurion for 6 years.

Through years of teaching, I realized that a new and more relevant way is needed to transfer knowledge and skills. A system, where you learn by direct personal discovery, emerged and this necessitated me to start up and launch the Digital Photo Academy, where a team of Photographic experts will teach and present workshops in all the popular genres in a unique way.

I am also an associate member of the South African Professional Photographers organization.

Recently I was also appointed as the Gauteng manager of the SAPP.

Weddings, commercial, conceptual and model portfolios is a challenge I enjoy and I am available for projects.

In conclusion, I shoot images and I’m happy doing it, always trying to make the new ones better than those before, experiencing the world in a new way.
